Stephen Reed

Utah State University

Steve has 37 years of experience assisting manufacturers to raise their competitiveness, productivity, and profitability. He has worked for General Electric as a systems integration specialist, overseeing the connection of engineering design, MRP systems, and production operations. The past 21 years, he oversaw the operations of one of the most successful Manufacturing Extension Centers in the country, ranking consistently in the top five performing Centers for measurable economic and performance impacts. His experience includes full profit and loss accountability and daily management of systems outreach and service delivery performance, with specialties and expertise in strategy alignment; strategic partnership development, goal and policy deployment, continuous process improvements, lean/six sigma, supply chain management and efficiency, organizational cultural improvements, new product development and introduction, and sustainability and energy improvements.


Richard Crosbie

Richard has 35 years of experience in Information Systems Technologies. After graduating from Utah State University with a degree in Information Technology, he started his career with Weslo Inc., now known as iFIT Health & Fitness, a global manufacturer and distributor of fitness equipment and technologies. He then spent time with Flying J Management who owns a large Utah fuel refinery, fueling stations, convenience stores and its own lending bank. He finished his career at Campbell Scientific, a global manufacturer of dataloggers and monitoring equipment. He has been the Information Technologies Director at each of these manufacturing companies where he was responsible for all aspects of technology as it relates to manufacturing, supply chain, distribution, and finance. Richard also served as Chief Security Officer in charge of securing and protecting all company data.

Some of Richard’s accomplishments include developing and implementing new ERP software systems, along with CRM and EDI applications. Richard was also responsible for changing the way replacement parts were procured and shipped to a large US & Canada retailer and in the process turned it into a profit center for the company. He was also responsible for implementing several websites and e-commerce sites for these companies.

After retiring from his career in Information Technologies, Richard was asked in the fall of 2020 to become part of the CONNEX™ UTAH team, where he has been working with Utah manufacturers to assist them in joining the CONNEX™ UTAH Platform. He recently accepted the position of CONNEX™ UTAH Business Consultant Lead where he will oversee the marketing and onboarding of manufacturers on the CONNEX™ UTAH platform, as well as work with other states in CONNEX™ Marketplace.
